Set in the Nazi-controlled, northern Italian state of Salo in 1944, four dignitaries round up sixteen perfect specimens of youth and take them together with guards, servants and studs to a palace near Marzabotto. In addition, there are four middle-aged women: three of whom recount arousing stories whilst the fourth accompanies on the piano. The story is largely taken up with their recounting the stories of Dante and De Sade: the Circle of Manias, the Circle of Shit and the Circle of Blood. Following this, the youths are executed whilst each libertine takes his turn as voyeur.

This, the second adaptation of Raymond Chandler's novel, is much closer to the source text than the original - _Murder, My Sweet (1944)_ (qv), which tended to avoid some of the sleazier parts of the plot - but still concerns private eye Philip Marlowe's attempts to locate Velma, a former dancer at a seedy nightclub and the girlfriend of Moose Malloy, a petty criminal just out of prison. Marlowe finds that once he has taken the case, events conspire to put him in dangerous situations, and he is forced to follow a confusing trail of untruths and double-crosses before he is able to locate Velma.

When Nora Walker gets pregnant, her beloved husband, the pilot Captain Walker, is considered missing in action in World War II when his plane crashes in a battle. However, in the middle of a stormy night, the boy has a nightmare with his father and runs to her mother's bed, finding her naked with "uncle" Frank, becoming immediately deaf, dumb and blind. The years go by, and her mother lives with a complex of guilty of the psychological problem of her son. One night, Tommy finds a pinball machine in a junkyard, and his natural skills transform him in a champion, and when he supersedes and heals his problems, a legion of fans follows him, as if he were a new Messiah.

The first Franco/Erwin Dietrich effort is probably Franco's most exploitive film with numerous sadistic scenes of torture and perversion. A true exploitation masterpiece that only a director like Franco could make. Maria (Lina Romay) is sentenced to prison for life for killing her father that attempted to rape. She is sent to a special section of the jail know for it's cruel and sadistic treatment of prisoners. The wardress (Monica Swinn) is a sadistic lesbian who knows no mercy and takes pleasure in her job. Maria seduces a male nurse who she eventually kills in order to spring an escape from the hellhole. A must for all fans of sadistic WIP films and for Jess Franco addicts. Also stars Franco regulars Paul Muller, Martine Stedilm and Eric Falk.

But the student is unaware that Julie plots to turn the tables on him the first chance she gets. In the second story, Millicent Larimore (Karen Black) is a plain-looking, almost reclusive woman whom lives with her amoral twin sister Therese (also Karen Black) whom delights in tormenting her. However, only their doctor whom visits from time to time knows the real thing behind the scene. In the final story, Amelia (Karen Black... again) in a solo horror story monologue plays a mother-dominated woman who buys an African Zuni fetish doll for her latest boyfriend in which the doll comes to life and terrorizes her in her own apartment.

However, Bartholomew, the sinister corporate head, wants Johnathan to retire, even though he is the most respected athlete of his time. Johnathan's rebellious quest will not come out with complications, both for him and his teammates, after he decides to continue playing despite Bartholomew's threats.

They do not travel on horses, but pretend they do and have their servants bang coconuts to make the sound of horse's hooves. Through satire of certain events in history (witch trials, the black plague) they find Camelot, but after literally a quick song and dance they decide that they do not want to go there. While walking away, God (who seems to be grumpy) come to them from a cloud and tells them to find the Holy Grail. They agree and begin their search...
